Snow Days

Thursday, January 7, 2010

We were out of school today for snow. Yippee!!! I slept in (8 am), took the dogs for a walk, ate breakfast, watched a movie, worked out for an hour (now my butt and the back of my thighs are super sore), ate lunch, took the dogs out to play in the snow, took pictures of the dogs in the snow and just things covered in snow, and watched tv. Then I heard that I get to do it all over again tomorrow because we are out for snow again tomorrow!!! Maybe I'll have a spa day and get some lesson plans done tomorrow. Who knows? Hope everyone is safe on the crazy Tennessee roads.
The dogs LOVE licking the snow.
Our road. Do you see why I don't leave the house?

I didnt post this picture last night because my stupid internet card refuses to stay connected longer than the amount of time it takes to download a picture. Since it's been cold, Sophie likes to wear her sweater when we go outside. Recently she's gotten to where she doesn't want us to take it off of her when we come ine. This is her favorite spot to lay. She's very spoiled.

BRRRRR!!!!

It is soooooooo cold!!!! It hurts to go outside! haha. I don't think it would be as bad if I only had to walk from my truck to the house or inside a building, but my beautiful, wonderful, loving, little 4 legged furry babies always want to go out when I have just warmed up. So, I have to go through the whole process of putting my layers and layers of clothes on to let them go sniff the ground for the perfect potty place. I agree with a lot of my friends, that if it is going to be THIS cold, then it definitely needs to snow!!! They are calling for it Thursday, so I'm doing my dance that we get out of school.
On a side note, I just have to rant for a second that I am sick of hearing people make comments about "what about this 'global warming?" in regards to how cold it has been. I in no way endorse Al Gore or any of his ideas, BUT just because it is cold does not mean anything to the contrary about global warming's existance. It's called the WINTER! I distinctly remember learning about the seasons and one of the attributes of Winter is that it can get VERY cold. I don't know why people find it funny to be sarcastic about making these comments, but to me it's just silly and unnecessary.

Starting Over

I am determined more than ever to get in shape! To give me a new starting point, I weighed myself and took my measurements today. I was very disappointed in myself by what I saw, BUT now I know where I'm at and can concentrate on dropping those numbers! I tried all day to talk myself out of going to Zumba (mostly because I was just gonna be lazy) but my desire to get in shape prevailed! And I went and had a blast! I can do this! I can do this! I can do this!
It's back to the grindstone tomorrow. I'm totally not prepared, but we'll figure it out as we go I reckon.

House Hunting

So, I went house hunting today. A wonderful friend and her hubby took me to a couple of houses that I had found that I was interested in looking at. I did find one that I am VERY interested in. It's super cute, in location I like, doggie friendly, and very me. Hopefully it'll work out. I'll definitely keep you posted. While we were looking at the houses, we saw this lovely scene. I don't know if you can tell but the deer in the middle is wearing a New Year's Eve party hat and all three of them have those noisey horn things in their mouth. It was too hilarious NOT to make my picture of the day. Maybe these people will be my neighbors one day.......HAHAHA

Snow!!!!

January 2, 2010

My wonderful, lovely, loving dog Sydni woke me up at 4:30 this morning needing to go outside. Getting up to go outside in the freezing cold is not my most favorite thing in the world to do (although I do it for the love of my dog-child). So, imagine my surprise when I open the door and see snow falling from the sky and covering the ground! We went back to bed and by the time I FINALLY did get up out of bed, the ground and my truck were covered in snow. It was really quite pretty. However, it didn't last long and apparently only dumped that much on my house. When I went to Zumba, I didn't see any more snow. Hopefully, this is a preview of what is to come during the week to get us of out of school....wishful thinking I know, but a girl can hope right? :)

Happy New Year 2010!!!!

I've decided to start up my picture a day blog again. I think it'll be fun and I really enjoyed it when I did it 2 years ago. Plus, I have my wonderful new camera to play with. I am also going to include some pictures from last night.

These pictures are from last night (December 31, 2009):

These pictures are from today (January 1, 2010):

Me and momSuch a big boy holding his own bottle! Ok, it was almost empty but he's growing like a weed!
Me and my buddy! I had to see him one more time before I came back home!

I dont want to make resolutions or say what I hope, dream or wish for 2010. Instead I'm making goals. My goals for the year are to work on improving the 5 F's in my life: Faith, Family, Friends, Fitness, and Fun. I want to work more on figuring out what I believe and not being afraid of what I believe and working on a better relationship with God. I want to work on making my relationships with my family and friends even stronger and spending more time with everyone. I definitely want to continue working on becoming healthier, so I plan to work out more, eat better, and drink more water. And of course, you can never have too much fun. I want to keep trying new things and just enjoying all of the moment life brings me. Like my BFF told me today, I NEED to live in the present and quit worrying about the future. And I plan on doing more of that!
Other goals include: Do at least one 5k each month this year, Walk/ Run the Country Music Half Marathon, volunteer more, stress less, and work on crossing off more items on my 30 things to do before I turn 30 list.

Here's to a happy and healthy New Year!
