So, obviously I've slacked off taking a picture every single day. I got busy and bored taking pictures of what seemed to be the same ting every day. BUT I do want to keep up this blog, so I will be posting from time to time with pictures and stories of what's going on in my life.
The best update is that I got the one thing I wanted for Christmas. My sister is going to have a baby!!!!! I told her a month ago that that was all I wanted is for her to get pregnant and they are! I couldn't be more ecstatic. Keri and Daniel came down Thursday night to have dinner with my dad and me. She nonchalantly gave us a Christmas card with a picture of the two of them on it. I didn't even read what the card said until Daniel (or Keri, I can't remember who said it) asked if I had read the card. So, I picked it up again and saw that it said "Seasons Greetings from the THREE of us!!!!! Love the Victorys" I squealed, I teared up, I jumped for joy, I did a little dance, I hugged a lot. And I haven't been able to stop grinning since then. Here's a picture we took that night. You know I will be taking pictures all the time now! I am so excited, IF you can't tell!!!
Also, I thought I'd give you a little update on how my List of 30 Things to do before I turn 30 is going. So I'll tell you the ones I am working on or have accomplished so far.
Me and Keri after I sang at church. And 17 1/2 pounds thinner!1. Live a healthy lifestyle and get to a healthy weight
So, I told you before that I joined Jenny Craig. I am definitely learning to live a healthier lifestyle. I've been doing really good too. Smaller portions, better choices, working out more. And I finally am seeing the results. I have lost a total of 17 1/2 pounds so far!!!!!!! I'm so excited. I'm making little mini goals for myself. My first one is 20 pounds by Christmas, so I have 2 1/2 left to lose. Then I'll make another mini goal.
2. Find a church to call my own
I can check this one off the list. I am now a proud member of Eastside Baptist Church. I love it there. Everyone is great and I'm really excited to be a part of it!
5. Learn to spend and save wisely
Still a work in progress, but with the economy the way it is, there really is no choice. I'm making a budget and doing a lot better about not spending on unnecessary things.
17. Become a better cook/take a cooking class
I haven't taken a class, but I have been trying different recipes for things and trying to cook more often.
18. Acquire more patience
When you work with kids, you can't help but have your patience tried. I have noticed that I am becoming more patient and understanding with the kids, which lets me be that way with adults too. Even when I don't want to. Still not ready to cross it off the list though.
22. Stand up for myself and others
I'd say I'm working on it. I'm definitely not letting people push me around.
23. Have more faith and believe in myself more
I am definitely working on this one. And I would say the best example is that I believed in myself enough to finally get up in front of a large crowd and sing.
29. Make new friends
Definitely making new friends this year at church and school and everywhere. Yay!
30. Do/try something I’ve never done/tried before
I sang in front of a large crowd. Definitely not something I've done before.
